The Met Ball 2015: Best Dressed
Last night, the annual Met Ball was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, celebrating the opening of the 'China: through the looking glass' exhibition, with the theme 'Chinese black tie'. Some guests, however didn't grasp this dress code (Miley Cyrus and Reese Witherspoon, I'm looking at you) but others made bold attempts at this theme (Rihanna seems never to shy away from a dress code) Here is a run through of my favourite looks...
Bee Shaffer in Alexander McQueen - Should it be surprising that Anna Wintour's daughter made it on to the best dressed list? Her train of embroidered birds put many A-list stars to shame, a dress perfect for the event.
Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi - I loved her dramatic red and black dress and her train was stunning, she complimented her dress well with gold, sun shaped accessories.
Shu Pei Qin in Tommy Hilfiger - She is honestly one of my favourite people and so obviously was going to make it onto the list. The model looked breath taking on the red carpet, the different shades of red and detailing on the sleeves looked so good.
Sienna Miller in Thakoon - she bought something different yet beautiful and the matching earrings and belt worked well with the whole sequin suit look.
Rihanna in Guo Pei - as I said earlier, Rihanna boldly went where no other guest seemed to go, with no competition for sticking to the theme best. She was one of the few who wore a design by a Chinese designer, the embroidered cape brought something different to a slightly bland red carpet.
I found FKA Twigs dress very interesting as well which is worth a look at, however it wasn't as 'Chinese black tie' as some of the others. Here were my favourite and most memorable looks, who is yours?
Thanks for the informative and helpful post, obviously in your blog everything is good.. Promgirl
